About Us

Pulasthipura National College of Education is a state preservice teacher education institution of Ministry of Education, Sri Lanka. Established in 2001, it is the only preservice teacher training institution in the North-Central Province of the country.

At present the College has two streams namely, Primary Education and Agriculture & Food Technology . The role of the College is conducting courses of study and preparing students for National Diploma in Teaching conducted by National Institute of Education, Maharagama.

To meet the challenges of the changing world, the College is offering both conventional preservice teacher education programme for prospective teachers and continuous teacher training programmes as per request by the state education institutions in the province. Computerization of administration, establishment of smart class rooms, modernization of laboratories, etc. are some of the innovative activities to mention in particular.
